CASALE RESIGNS AS CLERK TO BECOME ASSEMBLYMAN.(Capital Region)

Assemblyman-elect Pat M. Casale submitted his resignation as county clerk Wednesday, and appointed his most likely successor, Democrat Doreen Connolly, as deputy county clerk.

The county Democratic Committee has recommended that Gov. Mario M. Cuomo name Connelly to the $48,000-a-year post when Casale moves on to the Assembly. As deputy county clerk, she will immediately be able assume duties in the clerk's office after Jan. 1 when Casale's resignation becomes effective.
