SA: Search resumes for man feared drowned
ADELAIDE, Aug 9 AAP - A search resumed at first light this morning for a man missing,
feared drowned, after falling overboard from a dinghy in the Murray River early yesterday.
A police spokesman said the search would continue all day if necessary.
The missing man, 29, from the north eastern Adelaide suburb of Ingle Farm, fell from the
dinghy at Big Bend, 150km east of Adelaide, about 2am on Sunday (CST).
He and a friend, 28, had been trying to turn the dinghy around but when it capsized they
both fell out.
The younger man managed to swim to shore and raised the alarm, but a brief search by police
failed to locate his companion.
Police and emergency service boats and police divers resumed the search at dawn yesterday
without success and suspended it again last night.
